Information Technology Support for Students
The IT Department is responsible for all campus technologies including the administrative database, campus data- and phone-network, user support, and the Westminster website. We offer orientation sessions for new students. For students living in the Residence Halls, our ResNet program technicians can help students get their personal computers connected to the Internet. To support the Westminster computing community we staff the Support Phone (801.832.2023) during regular business hours.
Level 1 Support
We provide "Level 1" support for mission-critical technologies: we make sure that the technology is working properly and we will provide basic usage support.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Internet Explorer
- Network accounts and file access
- Official campus email software
- Campus printers and scanners
- Classroom and lab computers
- ANGEL - Angel will be unavailable August 10-12 for an upgrade.
- WebAdvisor
Level 2 Support
We provide "Level 2" support for all other campus technologies: we will ensure the technology is working properly and that users have access as applicable but we do not provide usage support.
- Classroom presentation equipment
- Microsoft Publisher, Project, and Access
- Adobe Photoshop
- Macromedia Dreamweaver
- Other specialty software networked for particular classes or disciplines
- Specialty hardware
