2008-2009 Schedule Released      

The Westminster Men's  Basketball team has released their 2008-2009 schedule. Westminster will try to improve their impressive 20-7 mark from last season with a team that lost only one senior. With the addition of several new recruits including senior Geoff Payne and junior Jeramie Hopson, the Griffins hope to overcome a difficult schedule that begins Oct. 31.

Westminster will begin its season on the road in Dillon, Mont., where they will play Dickinson State and Golden State Baptist. From there. the Griffins will play their first home games Nov. 7 & 8 against GSAC opponents San Diego Christian and perennial national power Azusa Pacific.

After that, Westminster will face a tough stretch with 12 of their next 14 games on their road including trips to Mesa, Ariz., and Durango and Denver, Colo. This stretch also includes their Frontier Conference opening weeked in Havre and Great Falls, Mont., versus MSU-Northern and University of Great Falls, respectively, before returning to Behnken Field House for their home conference opener versus Montana Tech.

Westminster hopes to advance farther than ever into postseason play with the Frontier Conference Tournament beginning March 4 and the NAIA National Tournament being held March 18-24 in Kansas City, Mo.
