Mentor Opportunities

The Project Director, the Program Coordinator, the McNair core faculty, faculty mentors, and research mentors will form the strong cohesive support team that enables the scholars to attain the goal of graduate school admission and success. Faculty Research Mentor

  • Advanced or terminal degree with research background
  • Experience in undergraduate research
  • Ability to tailor research experiences to specific student academic outcomes
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in working with low-income, first-generation college, and underrepresented students preferred

Faculty McNair Mentor

  • Advanced or terminal degree with research background
  • Experience in preparing students for graduate work
  • Excellence in academic advising
  • Ability to assess student needs and assist students in academic planning at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in working with low-income, first-generation college, and underrepresented students preferred
